10. Carly Rae Jepsen, "Call Me Maybe" 446,223,829

From these several top videos, majority of them include huge female artists. For example, I identified that lady gaga received more views (516,603,937) than Carly Rae Jepsen who received (446,223,829). In lady gaga's video it shows sign of powerful authority through the way her body language is shown as she is acting 'crazy' not wearing enough clothes and showing a negative side to her. In accordance to the view this shows this is something that the audience prefer, through the way she's being portrayed. As a drinker, smoker and related to dead bodies. Where as Carly Rae Jepsen's video was at the bottom of the top 10, however her video is less sexually appealing and more modest than Gaga and Carly is just having fun revolving everything around the song but not mainly her.

Tutorial report 08/07/2013

Based on the discussions, I have come to a conclusion of what may be the questions I will be focussing on. How is the introduction of the internet impacted, upon the representation of woman in the music industry such as (a music video)?

For this question I will be focussing on a music video which shows a woman in control and it's reinforcing and empowering woman's authorities. In line with this I will be searching for a video which is outrageous and how it has an impact to the woman today. I will be focussing on this video in depth and justifying my statements. But also consider other videos which is against my statements therefore creating a balanced debate. Also, questioning the fact that are woman changing because of the introduction of the internet such as for example social networking sites. Having two clear thoughts justified with for example, for- (hypodermic needle) against- (uses and gratification).

Over the next course of the holidays, I will be working on this question and researching in depth of a balanced argument. With theories to justify my research too and this will help be also for my ignite presentation and help me investigate and go ahead with my essay. Also, reading books from university sites and researching various types of articles will help me too.

THREE BEST IDEAS
Why do people have the need to feel perfect, is it how woman are being represented in the music industry? (Subject on Television, Music videos, Magazines and Online)
A reason for choosing this text is that on a daily basis I am identifying the way in which woman are being portrayed through music videos and social networking sites. Because they are wearing lesser clothes, and showing it to their fans this is a very popular thing to do therefore it must influence a lot of people. I want to investigate if this is the reason why people are going through cosmetic surgeries and want to look and feel perfect.
Moreover, with woman this is a popular issues because they are spending a lot of time to look good! I already know how people have gone crazy to look perfect! going through several surgeries to consistently spending way to much money on fakery.

http://www.beyonce.com/ This is an example, Beyonce is being portrayed as a very beautiful person, this would influence a lot of the other people out their to be as 'perfect' as her.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_industry This discuss's what the music industry is, the people who compose music and take part in it. To investigate how people are becoming perfect due to how woman are being presented in the music industry, I need to know what's involved in this.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FHp2KgyQUFk This is another example, of how beyonce shows off with lesser clothes to the audience. This may influence audience's to do crazy things in order to become that thin etc. Later on, I am going to research the statistics on females changing going through various of things perhaps due to their role models etc.

How are teenagers being negatively represented through the media, what effect this has on other older people? (TV)
In my opinion I feel that we are being represented negatively, if it's in school or outside there is always an issue with teenagers. As this is popular through the media this effects older people as instantly if they see boys wearing hoody's they instantly have that stereotype in their mind. Therefore I want to investigate if older people are really effected by what the media says, or do they not believe it at all?

http://soulpancake.com/conversations/view/73435/why-are-teenagers-represented-so-negatively-in-the-media.html This website discuss's the stereotypes of teens and the possible reason to why were are being represented as such. In order to go ahead with this I need to understand why they are being presented in such a way.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wu-JWUt_FMs This shows how media projects media types and if this is the cause why older people are believing it, because they are immune to do so.

To what extent are British programmes: such as Britain got talent following the pre-watershed rule? (TV)
Complaints are always being sent to programmes or ofcom because they have passed the limit and I personally have noticed this for example: on Britains got talent they invited singers weekly during the final episodes Jlo appeared and did a gig. The outfit she wore was wrong, as it was firstly too short too tight and not something for a small child to see! After this there were many complaints! So this has influenced me to investigate are reality programmes really following the rules? Or is there something else behind the cameras!

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2327353/Britains-Got-Talent-pre-watershed-TV-programmes-robbing-children-innocence-headteachers-claim.html This discusses how foul language and inappropriate themes on BGT and other pre-watershed programmes are robbing children of their innocence, headteachers have warned.
